We are excited to present the inner core of the PQ-REACT project!
Twelve organisations are shaping the project’s team striving to design, develop, and validate a framework for a faster and smoother transition from classical to post-quantum cryptography, including R&D Centers, Scientific Organizations, Universities, SMEs, Marketing Agencies and Defense Institutions!
Get on board and let’s discover the PQ-REACT team!

Pasiphae Lab is a research unit of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of the Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU), located in Heraklion, Crete, Greece. It was formally founded in 2003 as a branch of the Multimedia, Networks, and Communications Laboratory, with a threefold mission: academic, research, and development. Prof. Evangelos Markakis is the Principal Investigator of the laboratory that comprises not only permanent teaching staff-members from the Hellenic Mediterranean University, but also professors, researchers (post-doctoral), and MSc and PhD students, alongside several professionals with established know-how from the Greek and international industry and business sectors.
The research directions of Pasiphae Lab include Computer Networks and related fields such as Cybersecurity, Emergency Communications Networks, the IoT Ecosystem, as well as the development of novel digital technologies in these fields, according to the digital European strategy and following the trend and advancement of technology and research. Pasiphae Lab has a long record in national and EU-funded, competent projects in which it has participated with multi-purpose roles such as software and application development, as well as technical coordination, while it is also closely involved in standardization endeavors of highly respected organizations, such as the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) and the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA). Among the goals and objectives of Pasiphae is, through the technologies it develops, to assist in the provision of equal opportunities to all people regardless of their age, gender, abilities, or geographical location in which they reside.
Hellenic Mediterranean University’s role in the PQ-REACT project!
In the PQ-REACT project, our role is crucial in shaping and executing the overall exploitation roadmap. HMU is responsible for defining and implementing a strategy that aims to maximise the utilisation of the project’s outcomes in broader research activities and potential commercial applications. Our focus is on creating a solid and attractive value proposition that not only highlights the technical excellence of the project but also identifies the pathways to sustainable adoption. Some of the key activities we are working on include, i) Market Readiness Analysis Refinement, ii) Go-to-Market Strategy Development, and iii) Knowledge Management and Intellectual Property Protection
Being a member of the PQ-REACT team is exciting, but let’s see what the Hellenic Mediterranean University is saying about it!
We are definitely excited about developing the go-to-market strategy, since it involves creating a roadmap for how the project’s technical innovations will be introduced to the market. It’s a strategic and forward-looking process that requires a deep understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and the competitive landscape. Following, the Intellectual Property Protection plays a crucial role in safeguarding the project’s innovations and ensuring that they can be properly monetized and protected.
And of course, the positive impact to expect by being a member of the team!
Increasing European Resilience with the adoption of quantum-safe technologies within Europe, Reducing Distrust and Fear within the EU countries and organisations by providing clear guidance and making the transition more accissbile, and Enhcaning Security with the adoption of quantum-safe-crypto-systems.
